We all know eating well is important, but so is eating happily. It's no fun to have to miss out on taste if you're eating foods with as much flavor as cardboard to try and stay healthy. Here you can find recipes that are both delicious and nutritious!

The basic smoothie bowl

Smoothie bowls! The newest craze, these are not just smoothies in a bowl with a spoon. Smoothie bowls are thicker and have yummy and healthy toppings to boot. My favorite is this simple recipe with no added sugar that craves my cravings. For an even thicker and cooler treat, chill the bowl before pouring in the smoothie.

Makes 2 cups

1 1/2 cups of any frozen fruit- Fresh works too but it won't be as cold. I used mixed berries and raspberries.

1/2 cup of any milk- I used regular cow but coconut is also yummy!

Toppings- I used strawberries, blueberries, and unsweetened coconut.

Blend the fruit on low till the texture is coarse and not smooth. This is important! Blending it all at once will result in a thinner smoothie bowl.

Add the milk and blend until smooth. I added my milk in two parts. Then pour or spoon your smoothie into a chilled bowl and add toppings as you please.

That is all there is to it! A yummy, naturally sweet treat in minutes. You can also add chia seeds and protein powder for an extra health boost!
